Wire Woven Bead Cups
Wire woven Bead Cups.

I have just learnt this skill and got head over heels about them. While they don't look that special to some of us (for readers whom are not into handmade stuff, these can be easily misunderstood as factory or machine made)

They are intricate and difficult to make at the beginning. Thin weaving wires going in and out, it definitely takes me the longest time to finish one piece. While one is not enough, I even challenged myself to do a matching earring or even a pendant with 2 finishes.

The pendant is the design that I use for my class at Beads Cage.

Because of the intricacy, I offered these classes in 2 different sessions, thinking that I might kill my students if they are going to finish a piece within 1 session. It takes a lot of patience and hours, so giving them a break in between should be a better idea.

The earrings are available for sale on my website if you would like to take a browse.

Cheers,
Izel Ang
